What is Chiaroscuro?
A: Golly, we're happy you asked!!! Our buddies over at dictionary.com
define Chiaroscuro as "the technique of using light and shade in
pictorial representation" as well as "the arrangement of light and
dark elements in a pictorial work of art." In short, it's a Latin art
term. We here at the SLC, UT Zine CHIAROSCURO are neither latin nor
artistic. The name was chosen at random. We have been publishing our
free zine since November of 2002, we have no plans to stop any time
soon.
Q: Who is Tony?
A: Tony is a billionaire playboy layabout-at-large. He possesses the
most advanced intellect in all of creation and thus he spends most of
his time passed out drunk, hanging out at kinko's w/ his minions, or
trying to kill himself.
Q: Who are Tony's Minion's?
A: With the exception of the letter from the editor Tony does almost
no work on the publication he claims to edit. The majority of the work
is done by his two minions, Eric Blair and Hacim. Eric Blair never
served in the Indian Imperial Police, but Hacim did.
Q: Why does Tony publish CHIAROSCURO?
A: Tony was interested in the publishing business and hoped to gain
credibility by starting small and working his way up to far more
ambitious future projects....
Q: What about submissions?
A: Besides for his minions Tony relies heavily on the hard work of
numerous other writers/artists and you could easily become one of
them! Send any submissions to ChiaroscuroZine@hotmail.com [edit: the zine is dead for now] and unless
your submission has any obvious agenda (political or otherwise)
there's a really good chance Tony will publish it. Keep all
submissions under 1500 words or one page.
